My Toyota already has a backup camera. Why this?+
Your Toyota’s camera sees the trailer tongue, then the trailer blocks the view. This camera goes on the back of the trailer, so you see what’s behind the trailer. Stick it on the bumper to line up the hitch.
Will it stick to my trailer?+
The magnetic base holds on steel: the rear wall, frame or bumper. On a fiberglass or aluminum trailer, stick a steel plate in place first. Message us if you’re not sure.
Do I need to run any wires?+
No. The camera runs on its own battery with a solar lid, and sends the picture to the monitor without wires.
How do I charge the camera?+
The solar lid tops it up in daylight. If it sits in the dark for a while, charge it with the USB-C cable. It sleeps when nothing moves to save power.
Does it work at night?+
Yes. Infrared night vision turns on by itself in the dark.
Will it stay on at highway speed?+
Mount it on a flat, clean steel spot and push it down firmly. Check it before each trip like you check your chains.
What does the 2 camera kit do?+
You get a second camera and split screen. Put one on the trailer and one on the bumper, or one inside a horse or cargo trailer.
Is it waterproof?+
The camera is rated IP69K for rain, dust and washing, and works from -22 to 149 °F.
