The insert is a split ring with a deep groove on the bottom and a shallow groove on top. It slides between the two middle turns of your coil spring. Empty, it barely touches the coils. Loaded or braking hard, the turns close onto it and it pushes back.

Will they fit my van?+
The CSS-1168 fits the Chevy Express and GMC Savana 1500 (2007 to 2014), 2500 and 3500 (2007 to 2020) and 4500 cutaway (2009 to 2020), plus the Jeep Wrangler 1997 to 2012. Coil inserts are sized by the gap between the two middle turns of your coil spring, measured with the van parked and level: 1.44 to 1.63 in fits this size. Not sure? Message us before you order.
Do they fit a Sprinter?+
No. Sprinter vans have no front coil spring, so a coil insert has nowhere to sit. For a Sprinter, see the SSF-106-40 front pair.
How do they change the ride?+
They help your coils carry the weight when you brake or load up, so the front dives less, leans less in turns and stops bottoming out on dips.
Will the ride get stiff?+
No. They barely touch the coils when the van is empty, so everyday driving feels stock. They firm up as the turns close under load.
Is the install hard?+
No. Lift the wheel so the coil opens up, put a little dish soap on the coil, open the insert and slide it between the two middle turns, deep groove down. About 15 minutes a side, no drilling.
Can they fall out?+
The coil holds them in place once the van is back on the ground. Seat them between the middle turns, groove down, and check them after the first few drives.
